The wall Ultra

That’s the big one! It arrived! My first 100k! And also my Ultra #10. This one is called “The Wall”. It follows the Hadrian’s wall in the North of England. Hardian was a Roman Emperor. The race starts in Carlisle and finished in Newcastle; it goes from coast to coast. For this race I was not alone! Ola, my wife (<3) is following the race with a car and will be there at aid stations, and my friend (and former colleague/Boss) Andrea, a German Astronomer leaving in Chile (where I used to work before) has decided to join me for this race. As I am quite scared of the 100k bar I am very happy to have someone running with me! The race started under a thunderstorm but the weather got better with the kms! It follows a really beautiful path with the most difficult being in the middle. We manage to finish the 111k in 15h33 (including pit stops). We ranked 230/1291.
