First ultra Marathon of the year. We are mid-March, weather is nice; cold but sunny. For this year I have chosen a race not to far from my place: Chester. This is part of the GBUltra serie and it is a 50 miles, without much climbing.

That’s the big one! It arrived! My first 100k! And also my Ultra #10. For this race I am not alone! Ola, my wife (<3) is following the race with a car and will be there at aid stations, and my friend (and former colleague/Boss) Andrea, a German Astronomer leaving in Chile (where I used to work before) has decided to join me for this race. As I am quite scared of the 100k bar I am very happy to have someone running with me!

End of august, not much training during the summer but it is a local race so I wanted to do it (third time I enter the race, so I know it!). It litteraly starts 15minutes from my place. Coincidentally this is also the day after I moved from one appartment to a new one. Which was a bad idea…

Here we are! Last race of the year, and by far my favorite! What not to like, in my hometown (Saint-Etienne, France; so a good chance to see the family!) and a start in the middle of the night!
